500 Bathers

500 Bathers is a visual recherché, depicting hundreds of female Bathers from across the history of art, especially the orientalists like Ingres.
This site-specific drawing installation took place in a historical bathing pool situated inside my residency studio in Nairs Foundation.
This pool is tiled with 10 x 10 cm ceramic pieces, which are covered day by day with my 500 drawings on used cotton bed sheets, self-portraits based on the female bathing protagonists, such as Bathshebas and Susanna and the Elders depictions during western art history.

2021, ink on used bed sheets, 500 pieces of drawings 10 x 10 cm to 10 x 20 cm
