Johannes Wesling (1598-1649), der Namensgeber des Klinikums gab in Padua das "Syntagma Anatomicum" heraus, ein wegweisendes Anatomielehrbuch. Die barocke Darstellung des Blutkreislaufes wurde 16fach aus Edelstahl geschnitten und im Zentrum verbunden. Ihre bizarre Form läßt sowohl figurative, als auch florale Deutungen zu und transformiert die Synthese aus Anatomie und Botanik in eine abstrakte Skulptur.
Johannes Wesling (1598–1649), the clinic’s namesake, published the pathbreaking anatomy book, „Syntagma Anatomicum“ in Padua. The baroque portrayal of the circulatory system found in this book was cut in stainless steel and connected in the middle. The bizarre form takes on both figurative and floral qualities, synthesising anatomy and botany in an abstract sculpture.
