Studio Office and Studio Commissioners
The Studio Office in the kulturwerk of the bbk berlin is the central contact point for all artists living in Berlin and looking for a studio–regardless of whether they are members of the bbk. We provide advice on finding a studio and holding on to existing studios.
The Studio Office has made a long-term commitment to securing spaces for the production of visual art in Berlin and to keeping them affordable for artists, even in the face of gentrification.

The integration of the paper workshop into the print workshop broadens the spectrum of artistic techniques and professional opportunities available. Politically advocated for and promoted since 2024, the project was implemented by the Senate at the last minute before the end of 2025, in close cooperation with the management of bbk berlin, Wibke Behrens, and the workshop.

Professionalization in the visual arts: The educational work of the bbk berlin in 2025
In 2025, the 'bbk berlin bildungswerk' held a total of 161 events as part of its in-person seminars and workshops, the Digital Campus, and the Strategic Autumn program, in which 1,360 visual artists participated.

The survey “Living and working as a visual artist in Berlin” is open until January 31. It covers key aspects such as gender (in)equality, income and working conditions, and retirement provisions, as well as individual questions on (content warning:) abuse of power, sexual harassment, and censorship.
