08.11.2021 | NEW SUBSIDY DIRECTIVE for the studio rental program
Dear artists,
We are pleased to inform you that the new subsidy directive for the studio rental programme (in German only) came into force on 1 November 2021.
The guideline was agreed between the Studio Office in the Kulturwerk of the bbk berlin and the Senate Department for Culture and Europe and replaces the previous guideline from 1993.
It contains the following essential adjustments and improvements:
- Abolition of the funding period limitation to eight years
- Adjustment of the applicable income limits (in German only) for artists
- Introduction of a new funding category with higher income limits and a higher percentage of artists' rents.

Of course, the criteria of professional and social urgency still apply to the awarding of grants. More details can be found in the transparency statement of the Studio Advisory Board (in German only).
