How to apply

By registering, you will be added to our mailing list and will then regularly receive subsidised offers on studios and studio flats.

The current call for applications was published on 10.07.2024.

The next call for applications is expected to be published on 11.09.2024.

How do I apply?

The application procedure is described in detail in this presentation (PDF).

We recommend that you save a draft if you would like advice on your details by telephone. We can then advise you on the basis of the saved information.

Preparation

The following documents and information can be prepared before the actual application.
Please be sure to adhere to the specified regulations, number of pages and formats.
If you do not comply, your application will not be considered.

1. Description of the situation (to be copied into the text field)

• German or English, short description of your own situation with regard to the professional and social urgency of the application; maximum 1000 characters including spaces, preferably in bullet points instead of full sentences

2. Artistic Curriculum Vitae (PDF)

• German or English, exhibitions in reverse chronological order by year, maximum 2 pages, selection focussing on exhibitions of the last 4-5 years, maximum DIN A4, portrait format
• Please ensure that the CV is legible (font formatting) and accessible (copyable text; functioning links). In particular, please refrain from using artistic settings in your CV (this contributes both to the work of the advisory board and to the readability of your work).

3. Portfolio (PDF)

• German or English, work images labelled with title, format, material, year of creation (focus on the last 4-5 years), maximum DIN A4, landscape format, no double pages, maximum 15 pages in total (including cover page); no catalogues, no letters of recommendation, no press articles
• Please make sure that the portfolio is legible (font formatting) and accessible (copyable text).

4. Figures for the self-declaration of income

• Please read the instructions for self-disclosure first.
• You can read or calculate all the relevant figures in advance using your bank statements, so that you only have to transfer them to the form.

STUDIO APARTMENTS

For studio apartments that are part of housing construction development programs, you need a Wohnberechtigungsschein ("WBS mit besonderem Raumbedarf") for 2 rooms per person which is available at the Bürgeramt.

JOINT APPLICATIONS

You can apply as a group via the online tool, also in addition to an individual application.

SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION

To finally submit your application, you must tick the declaration of completeness and correctness of your information (at the bottom of the form) and press the button "Submit application" before the application deadline.

Attention: Before submitting the application, it must be saved at least once in between without the declaration of correctness and completeness of the documents already being filled in.

On submission you will receive an automatic confirmation to the e-mail address you provided.

DEADLINE

The documents for the current call for applications must be uploaded in full by the application deadline on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, 23:59.

We strongly recommend that you submit your documents a few days before the application deadline to prevent server overloads towards the end of the deadline which may prevent you from submitting your application on time.

If a server overload does result in applications not reaching the studio office, no late applications can be accepted. Whenever possible, use the tool to upload your application ahead of time.
