How to apply
If you do not have or do not have enough space to work in and want to apply for a workspace or studio apartment within the programme, please take a moment to answer a few questions regarding your needs first:

By registering, you will be added to our mailing list and will then regularly receive subsidised offers on studios and studio flats.
The next call for applications is expected to be published on Tuesday, 13.07.2021.
Since December 2020, all applications are to be made via this website. The applicants' area is activated from the time a current call for applications is published until the corresponding application deadline.
You then have the option of using the "Save(draft)" button to temporarily save your application and continue processing it at a later date. To do this, go to "My studio application".
After creating your profile, you can fill in the information needed (all requied fields are marked with a red star).
You must declare your annual net household income on the application. You will find explanations on the form.
As freelance income fluctuates seasonally, we always consider the annual income from the previous year. If there are significant differences to the year of application, please contact the studio office before submitting your application.
After entering all data, you must upload the required documents:
1. Artist CV (PDF)
- Maximum 2 pages (a selection is sufficient)
- Font size at least 12 pt
- In table form by year
- In German or English
2. Portfolio (PDF)
- Maximum size DIN A4, indication of title, format, material, year of creation (not older than four years)
- Maximum 15 pages in total, including cover page, not double-sided
- No catalogues, no folders, no loose sheets, no originals, no letters of recommendation, no press articles
Please abide by all of the rules and formats outlined above or your application cannot be considered.
For studio apartments that are part of housing construction development programs, you need a Wohnberechtigungsschein ("WBS mit besonderem Raumbedarf") for 2 rooms per person which is available at the Bürgeramt.
You can apply as a group via the online tool, also in addition to an individual application.
SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION
All entries and changes in your application area can be saved as a draft. To finally submit your application, you must press the "Submit application" button before the application deadline.
Attention: Before submitting the application, it must be saved at least once in between without the declaration of correctness and completeness of the documents already being filled in.
You will receive an automatic confirmation to the e-mail address you provided.
The application including all documents must be uploaded in full by the application deadline on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
We strongly recommend that you submit your documents a few days before the application deadline to prevent server overloads towards the end of the deadline which may prevent you from submitting your application on time.
If a server overload does result in applications not reaching the studio office, no late applications can be accepted. Whenever possible, use the tool to upload your application ahead of time.
