Masks

2022

Short Description:
by Azar Pajuhandé

The Mask series is made 2022 after 12 years of my immigration to Germany for being an artist. This work is a journey, contemplating many aspects of my life:
roots, childhood and the experiences of my present life.
All masks are made with clay, which I consider as my relation to the meaning of water and earth, also an important material in Iranian architecture and crafts.
I ask what constitutes identity by looking back in my memories and remember the fragments like going through a history museum.
