Yellow – Red (Berlin)

Katzenaugen von Fahrrädern und Splitter von Autorücklichtern fielen mir in Berlin stärker auf, als an den vorigen Wohnorten. Unterwegs finde ich diese Unfall- oder Materialermüdungsrelikte, Indizien für infrastrukturelle Abnutzung, zurückgelassene, unbeachtete Sedimente des Verkehrsflusses durch die Stadt. Sie ergeben ein Brand-, Kadmium-, Bernstein- und Orangegelb bis hin zu Hoch-, Kalypso-, Zinnober-, China-, Scharlachrot und Vermillon.
Es gibt noch kein Ziel für die Farben. Ich durchsuche noch ganz Berlin, einem Subotnik ähnlich, systematisch Straße für Straße.
Der Stadtraum, meine Bewegung und Aufmerksamkeit darin, Zeit und Material, was währendessen für mich abfällt, bestimmen die Dimension der Farbmalerei später.

The cat‘s eyes (german name for the reflectors) from bicycles and splinters from car back lights caught my eye more in Berlin than in the previous places of residence. On the way I find these relicts of accidents or material fatigue, indications of infrastructural wear and tear, left behind, neglected sediments of the traffic flow through the city. They result in a fire, cadmium, amber and orange yellow to high, calypso, vermilion, china, scarlet and vermillon.
There is still no target for the colors. I‘m still searching all over Berlin, like a subotnik, systematically street by street.
The urban space, my movement and attention in it, time and material, what falls for me in the meantime, determine the dimension of the color painting later.
