Rumours of Noise - lecture #5, 14.04.2026,

The fifth installment of the “Rumours” series, held on April 14, 2026, focused on the sounds of the present and the “future”: What can still be considered “new” in contemporary music and noise today? We explored this (admittedly subjective) question using a wide variety of musical examples. We were joined by special guest Ralf Hoyer - composer and founder of the Initiative Neue Musik Berlin - who brought additional perspectives to the discussion.
The second part featured three completely different pieces that allowed the audience to experience different forms of auditory perception by drawing on the provocative potential of contemporary music while also offering forward-looking new approaches to sound deconstruction, drone and noise.
