Screenings

Annual screenings show current works by media artists that were produced, edited or set to music in the media workshop.


From 2012 to 2019, these screenings took place at Cinema Central (Haus Schwarzenberg, Rosenthaler Str. 39, 10178 Berlin-Mitte). The individual short film programs are listed here by year. The program booklets, which contain information about the submitted entries, provide a good overview of the diverse approaches in media art. Some of the videos are also available as showcases on Vimeo on the Media Workshop channel.

This year's screening is being held in collaboration with the bbk berlin educational institute as part of the Strategic Autumn of Solidarity in Fine Art 2025. The call for entries was aimed at users of the media workshop and was closed on September 29, 2025.

We are delighted to have received numerous exciting submissions with very interesting contributions and cordially invite you all to our screening evenings on October 14 and 15, 2025. For the first time, we will be using our own premises for this event: the Media lab (formerly Kesselhaus). There will be time for a lively discussion about the films, accompanied by drinks and snacks.
