Infrastructures for visual arts

Professional artists from all over the world are welcome to use our facilities. The Kulturwerk is an associated facility of the bbk berlin; it is subsidised by the State of Berlin.

Studios and studio apartments
Advice and support with the space search, development and assignment of publicly promoted studios and studio flats. Consultation and support with the development of studio projects.

Sculpture workshops
Technical consultation, flexible possibilities for work, industrial tools and machinery: The sculptor workshop offers outstanding work conditions for artistic projects in metal, wood, stone, plaster/casting, plastics and ceramics. A 3D laser scanning system is also available.

Print studios
The offer reaches from the traditional printing methods, such as book printing, etching and lithography to screen-printing and offset print, the services on offer are regularly adapted to incorporate the latest technical developments. Additionally, the studio runs workshops for papermaking and bookbinding.

Media studio

The Media Workshop provides the infrastructure and know-how for producing art videos, multi-media installations, performances and inter-active works of art.

Competitions for art in public space
Sculptures, installations, memorials shape not only the townscape, but demand and promote the cultural discourse with and in the public. The office for art in public space opens area and strengthens over democratic and transparent procedures artists in their vocational perspective.

Office for artist consulting
The office offers advice to visual artists from Germany and abroad, who want to start their career in Berlin. It offers support with the most important questions about working as a professional artist and helps artists to orientate themselves in the art city of Berlin.
